I write the quizzes that try to be rigorous without being boring. My background is in counseling psychology — I was halfway through a PhD at UT Austin before I decided I wanted to write for the internet instead of for JSTOR.

What I care about: distinguishing between personality frameworks that have actual research behind them (Big Five, attachment theory) and ones that are basically horoscopes with extra steps (most of pop-psychology TikTok). The answer is usually somewhere in the middle.

I'm also the person who writes our comparison guides. If you've ever wondered whether MBTI is real or attachment styles are overused, one of my pieces probably comes up when you Google it.
